Serene 2BR Beachfront Getaway on the Esplanade

Stunning beachfront setting let down by a broken AC and no Wi-Fi. Positive: The location is unquestionably the property’s strongest asset. Waking to the sound of waves and strolling metres from the sand to nearby cafés and shops made each morning truly special for both adults and kids. For any family seeking a beachfront escape, this setting delivers. Negative: I spent four nights at the Serene 2BR Beachfront Getaway on the Esplanade, Clifton Beach, with my two children. While the direct beach access and sunrise vistas ensured an idyllic setting, several essential service failures significantly detracted from our family holiday. Unfortunately, comfort in the ground-floor living area fell short. The air-conditioning unit was non-functional throughout our stay, leaving the downstairs space uncomfortably warm during the hottest part of the day. With two young children, the temperature imbalance made downtime and afternoon naps particularly challenging. Connectivity was virtually non-existent. There was no Wi-Fi for most of our stay—an issue when trying to keep the kids entertained indoors or plan local activities. Given the premium beachfront rate, the combination of broken air-conditioning and lack of internet makes it hard to justify the cost.
