Comfortable accommodation with all the mod cons needed for a short holiday. Positive: Well equipped amenities like washer drier oven. Place was very clean. Excellent condition. Proximity to the airport. Negative: Lack of storage in the wardrobes. A bit noisy at night.

Misleading Listing and Unpleasant Experience Negative: We booked this property primarily for the advertised private “spa,” “pool,” and “hot tub.” Unfortunately, what we found was one large unit that is supposedly “heated by the sun,” but in reality, was cold to lukewarm. No effort had been made to ensure the hot tub was actually hot prior to our arrival. Given its size and questionable functionality, it would take days—if ever—to reach a true hot tub temperature. It became clear that this single unit was being marketed as all three amenities: spa, pool, and hot tub. Since there’s no actual pool, this was extremely disappointing and misleading. The interior was clean and spacious, but the musty smell was overpowering. Even running all the AC units on “dry” mode didn’t help. If you have asthma or any sensitivity to air quality, this is not the place for you. Ultimately, the musty environment drove us to leave two days early. I tried to crack the windows for fresh air but, unfortunately, noise was another issue. During our stay, there was constant construction across the street, large trucks coming and going, planes overhead, and nonstop barking dogs. While we might have tolerated the noise, the poor air quality was a deal-breaker. When we brought up our concerns to the owners, we were met with defensiveness and blame. They asked for our “understanding” regarding the spa being non-functional and the musty smell, attributing it to the tropical climate. However, they offered no refund or accountability for the two nights we didn’t stay, and their reaction to our early departure was aggressive and distressing. Thankfully, we booked through a reputable platform that we use very regularly and received a credit from them. But the interaction with the hosts marred what could have been relaxing days by a real pool and hot tub. There are plenty of lovely, affordable hotels in the city of Cairns with true hot tubs, proper pools, excellent service, and even breakfast.
